Why we publish our prices, and why they are ex-GST

Request-a-quote is a habit, not a strategy. What a published price does for a buyer, why we state it excluding GST, and why the renewal number is part of the price.

Healthixio and Pathixio have their prices on the website: first-year price, renewal price, what is included, what is not. Most of our competitors ask you to request a quote. This is a short explanation of why we do it differently and the two details that matter most.

The request-a-quote habit

Hiding the price lets a vendor charge each customer what they think that customer will pay. It also filters buyers: only people willing to sit through a sales call ever see a number. For enterprise software with six-month sales cycles that may be rational. For a 20-bed nursing home or a two-room pathology lab, it is a waste of the owner's afternoon.

A published price does three things. It lets a buyer decide in five minutes whether to bother. It forces the vendor to make the product worth that price for everyone, not just the customers who negotiated badly. And it is honest, which is a strange thing to have to list as an advantage.

Why ex-GST

The Indian convention is to quote inclusive of GST, because ₹11,800 with GST looks like less money than ₹10,000 plus 18 percent. It is not less money. It is the same money with the tax hidden inside.

Businesses registered under GST claim the tax back as input credit, so the number that matters to them is the ex-GST number. Hospitals and labs are businesses. We publish ex-GST and label it as such on every page, so the price you compare is the price you pay and the tax line on the invoice is not a surprise.

The renewal number is part of the price

Software is not bought once. Year two costs something, and a vendor that publishes year one and negotiates year two has not published a price. Healthixio's clinic plan is ₹40,000 in year one and ₹20,000 a year after that; Pathixio's Starter plan is ₹8,000 and then ₹6,000. Those numbers are on the product pages, in the contract and in the renewal reminder. There is no separate conversation about them.

What 'included' means

A price is only comparable if the scope is. Ours includes onboarding, data migration from whatever you use now, training for your staff, and support. For Pathixio it also includes analyser interfacing and WhatsApp report delivery, which the market usually sells as add-ons. If something is not included, the plan says so in a line labelled 'not included', because a buyer should not learn about a limit after paying.

The number on the page is the number on the invoice.

You can see the current plans for Healthixio and Pathixio. If a number changes, it changes on those pages first.
